our raya preparation started at home. these are the ketupat bawang and ketupat satay that i didnt make. i tried to anyam ketupat but jadik bakul and burung. one of it even looked like a boat. habih tu nak buat camane?
this is at my uwan's backyard. tongah masak ghondang ayam. rustic tak my uwan's backyard? luv it!
i bet u havent seen this before. this is ketupat jantung [shown by mak], cuz its shape is like jantung pisang. people dont make ketupat jantung anymore cuz it's difficult to make.
where some of the ladies sleep. mattresses after mattresses are lined together to make one giant bed, cuz my uwan has 10 kids, 10 menantus, 30+ cucus, so there's not enough room.

walaupun begitu, raya this time around felt weird..
mainly because i used my baju konvo as my baju raya. kononnya nak jimat duit la tu. it was [surprise, surprise] longgar dan lompong, and one of the beads fell off.
i felt so tak best. huhh! from this raya on, i'll make sure i have a brand new baju raya to wear on the 1st of hari raya, no matter how cheapskate i am.
and, i didnt really get much duit raya cuz people think "chambering" is a proper job. there's a reason why i'm called "chambering STUDENT". sigh..takpo la, takdo joki den. dah la tengah penniless dan cuti 2 bulan. dan dah la next year i have to kasi duit raya to people plak.. this is definitely not a wholesome raya for me.
